[edit] Overview

The official religion of the nations of Ainor, Artal, and Caread, the church of Aodeyn is the most prominent religion in Maris, having reached as far as the sands of Nabata and the islands of Vadal, though centering upon the three previously mentioned nations in eastern Maris, and most prominently in Ainor. The missionaries who spread the word of Aodeyn are very articulate and very passionate about their religion. Few men have not heard Aodeyn's name before.

[edit] Aodeyn

Aodeyn, commonly referred to as Aoyden, is the father god of all the Ainori gods. He is depicted in many ways. Aodeyn is depicted as a bearded man riding a black horse. His armour is red, as is His flowing cape. His eyes are a deep brown, and He is young, and exceptionally handsome. His hair is shiny and is a light golden-brown. It always seems to ripple in the wind to enhance His perfection. Aodeyn is perfection, to those who follow him. He is the protector, the uniter, and the caretaker.

[edit] St. Elimine

What little is known about St. Elimine has come from word of mouth or texts recovered from the Sundering. What is known, and is official is that she was a saint, and fought in a great war long ago. In Cairagis, the religious capital of Ainor, a statue stands of her. She is depicted as a very beautiful woman, with long, flowing hair, and she is holding a staff out to welcome the sun. What knowledge remains of her has helped form the Church of Aodeyn.

[edit] Impact on Ainor & Beyond

The Church of Aodeyn is the official religion of Ainor, Caread, and Artal. It is the most prominent religion in all of Maris, and has even spread to provinces in the Thanedoms and Endal. And the Missionaries continue spreading it throughout the continent.

The followers of Aodeyn believe that the god is absolute, and none are superior to Him. Aodeyn has assigned tasks to His underlings, the other gods, because, even though He is the chief God, time is the same to Him. He doesn't have the time to oversee every walk of life, and so He delegates tasks to the gods that He created.
