The Atavac Group is a collection of 3 sub-dwarf galaxies and a few companion clusters located over 18,000 LY away from the Aetil'c group. The group spans over area approximately 1,000 LY across and home to around 7.7 million stars of which over 500,000 have planets within its habitable zone, roughly 100,000 habitable worlds but only 10,000 are actually inhabited. With its rather small size, is considered as one of the smallest galactic group. The largest member of the group is Atavac ddSph which measures about 55 LY across, followed by Selarvad ddSph which is 39 LY across and finally Qevaraq ddSph which measures only 33 LY across. An ancient race is believed to have lived within the group approximately 1MYA and seeded their genetic structure to guide the evolution of inhabitants of the worlds they have visited. This mysterious race has disappeared about 500KYA and about 200,000 years later the first sentient humanoid began to appear in the group. Within the intergalactic void a hyperspace disturbance exists which renders FTL intergalactic travel almost impossible. Vessels can only travel through the void using sub-light speeds which would render traversing it very lengthy and almost impractical. It is unknown however how the ancient humanoids managed to travel the group or if they are the ones who created the disturbance to avoid external threat from reaching the inhabit worlds or simply discourage their descendant race from intergalactic travel. The main civilization which has developed and employed the use of FTL travel is the Javaran Union, a confederation of inhabited worlds established for mutual defense, trade and scientific development. The Javaran Union has developed a warp engine capable of reaching 1,000,000 km/sec (3x c) and has developed technologies to study other worlds within the Atavac ddSph and of the other members of their local group. With the intergalactic disturbance, they can only do long range scans when studying worlds outside their galaxy. The Javaran Union was founded approximately 300 years ago with its territory reaching as far as 0.37LY away from the planet Javara. Within its territory lies several inhabited worlds and a few colonies established by humans. The Union's population not only includes the humans but other species as well including avian and aquatic species. It is headquartered in the Javaran homeworld which orbits a Type K orange dwarf star with 3 moons of which 2 are terraformed and inhabited, the third is used for military and research purposes. According to Union rules, its members are prohibited from interfering the natural social evolution of the worlds they have visited and as much as possible avoid interacting with species who have not yet reached spacefaring capabilities.
