The Unicorn and the Raven/Keep your eyes closed and pass thorugh the barrier

Ignoring the uncertainty you feel, you close your eyes and step through the barrier. There's a disorienting sensation and you can see the inside of a kind of corridor made of light, see it even though your eyes are closed. Its like walking down a hall, except ever step is taken at the same time. You sense things that aren't tied to any of your senses and perceive things that cannot be described in normal three dimensional language. All this happens in an instant, but at the same time it seems to take hours or days, an eternity. Your senses begin to break down, unable to cope with the information they're being required to process all at once and everything starts to fade-
And then you're somewhere else. You don't know where you are at first, any more than you did when you woke up lying on the ground in the forest, but this is certainly no forest.
You're in a large room, lit by a hellish, red glow. The floor and pillars are dark marble but the far wall is glass and though its dark outside you can see the tops of stone towers in the blinding flashes of light that periodically illuminate the outside world. You can see more than that, though; the intermittent illumination reveals a tableau straight out of a nightmare. The towers you can see are covered with a moving carpet of horrible, misshapen creatures swarming all over them and you know, know, that you're watching something horrible. It gives you a cold feeling in the pit of your stomach and you don't know what's worse- when you can see the creatures or, knowing they're there, when you cant.
You aren't alone in the room. Though your eyes were drawn to the window that takes up the whole far wall, there the room is full of consoles and half a dozen people, all watching the scene outside, facing away from you. From this angle, the only person who might see you is leaning over a glowing table in a pit in front of the window. You can tell he's a man, dressed in the same dark colored uniform as the rest of the room's occupants, but that's about it. For the moment nobody has noticed your arrival, but that could change at any moment.
