Basketball Tournament

The Basketball tournament has been a staple of camp since the beginning in 1989. While not contested every year, depending on time and space availability and interest from the campers, it is still a WMACS tradition. Unlike the Volleyball Tournament, where each team plays, the teams are made by the counselors, consisting of the campers who signed up, balancing the teams as much as they can. The campers not playing would either watch or go Swimming. Every team plays every other team in round robin, and after that, the teams are placed in a seeded single elimination lineup. After the finals, like volleyball, there is an All-Stars vs Counselors match. The counselors give the campers a handicap and let the campers have 6 players opposed to 5 counselors.
