The brother of Kun Liu, Jian Xiong grew about loving his sister, and was sad to leave his family behind to study in the States. But he did so, going into a doctorate at 22. While in the States, however, Jian Xiong found he was reacting differently to the climate. At first, he thought he was only adjusting, but when one night two daggers seemed to drop out of thin air magically, Jian Xiong found he could open dimensional pockets wherever he wanted, and pretty much choose whatever he wanted to pull out of them with ease. He preferred swords though, as was what he had taken lessons in as a child.
Wondering what the hell this meant, Jian Xiong spent a fair amount of time looking up old texts and documents, trying to assess if he was really just a freak of nature, or if there was some greater purpose.
Happening upon a dreamseer, rather randomly in fact, he only learned her name before she told him he was destined to be one who could change the future, or, the Kamui of Beijing. He spent a few months around this Grace, before going back to Beijing, pondering what he was going to do about all of this.
It dawned on him gradually, but he knew, whatever his decision, he couldn't involve his family in it. So disappearing for a few days, Jian Xiong took good use of his medical knowledge as well as threatening a few morgue attendants into helping him, and made a replica of himself, depositing it in his bedroom, bloodied and broken.
Sending out an infiltration team of two girls, he set one up as playing the Kamui in his stead, and told her to choose whichever side she saw fit, then report back to him. Funds not being an issue, due to his other unsavoury activities, Jian Xiong spent the 8 months Syao Li was a Seal by building up a rather impressive weapon dealer imperium, all from his dimensional pockets.
Xu Tien, automatically turning Angel, told him what he needed to know from them, though it was less information than Syao Li gave him. More curious about the Angels, he decided recently he would choose working with them, and before calling Syao Li and Xu Tien to him, went back to the States to settle everything that needed settling over there, killing Grace to "feel what it was like" before going back to Beijing.
Once he settled down with the two spies, he got increasingly annoyed at Syao Li and her pleading for the Seals. He'd already decided, hadn't he? Not particulary caring who has to clean up his mess, he plans to rat Syao Li out to the Seals before killing her, leaving Xu Tien to do as she pleases.
Now all that remains is to mobilize the Angels, and have them blow the city he never really loved, to pieces.

Cool, calm and calculative, Jian Xiong is still more sociable than you would expect from an introverted crazed psychotic. He'll crack a joke if he feels like it, but it will have a tendency to be morbid and/or inappropriate.
He picks what makes most logical sense, and doesn't dwell on a lot, instead accepting most things off the bat. "If this is how it is, then..."
However, he's not likely to let you screw him over, either.
