The first child of a large family, Topher has always lived happilly as the 'leader' of his younger siblings. He'd easily describe it as a very, very happy childhood, complete with loving parents and running around playgrounds and having the attention of all his siblings.
And the discovery of shapeshifting abilities, too.
Playing hide and seek in their parents' bookstore with one of his younger brothers, and seconds away from being found by his brother, he wished he wouldn't be found - and was surprised when his brother straightened up and laughed sheepishly upon finding him, apologizing profusely to "Daddy" to playing in the bookstore like he had told them not to.
After managing to escape his room, he was shocked to find himself looking exactly like his father. He didn't know how, he didn't know why, but after spending half an hour staring at himself in the mirror, he tried to force himself back into his own body and succeeded.
Now, after 6 years with his power and at 17, Topher can't say anything except that he's got it good. He's lost count of how many pranks he's pulled and how many people the blame has shifted to because of his shapeshifting, and since he's the awesome guy he is, of course nobody would actually tell him he's using his powers for anything other than good.

Typical guy, Topher would call himself, and that's what he almost is. He's loud, confident and always grinning or trying to be witty. He likes to think he's every girl's dream, but the number of girls that have rejected him is an entirely different matter, because according to him, obviously, nobody would reject him.
Topher's opinion aside, the boy is cocky and thinks a little too much of himself. He knows not to overdo complimenting himself, but if he gets a chance to, he'll probably do it anyway. Despite his slightly inflated ego, Topher's still a nice guy at heart and is really just struggling to fit into his new teenage life as good as he knows how to.

Topher is, in simple terms, a shapeshifter. He can take the form of someone else for a while, although he avoids shapeshifting for a long period of time.
