[edit] History

Jacob's around 37, about to turn 38, and teaches high school english at wherever it is Ria is attending. He calls it a temp job, but it's been one for the past eleven years, and he's grown comfortable (and a little irritated) with watching the day's youth and how they're turning out. (So far they're not giving him much hope.) Back when he was in high school, he was close friends with Emma and it was through her he found out that there were people with "powers," and when he eventually graduated high school and went on to college and HIS sprung up through a college prank gone horribly wrong (he hears the water stains never really left the library ceiling), he wasn't TOO surprised. Weirded out HE got them, but not "wow wtf why can I do this." Anyway, after high school he sort of lost touch with Emma, hearing in passing that she got married and had a kid, but hasn't been thinking about her until recently, and going very very "wts" at the email inviting him to the community about the end of the world.

[edit] Personality

The history kinda explains the power bit. Anyway. Jacob's somewhat cranky because he deals with obnoxious teenagers all day (though he figures it could be worse, he could teach at a public school again instead of the theatre one). He's kind of a flake though, and rarely follows through with what he says. (ex. he likes to make his students think, but usually slacks off worse than them.)

...and I can randomly see him writing comments on his students papers when he actually bothers to in Latin. Just as a way to get them to sit down and talk to him on wts he thinks they did wrong.

And because a char that can spout off random Latin at teenagers amuses me.

[edit] Powers

Jacob can control water, and water-based objects except humans & animals.

[edit] Family & Relationships

Thanks to his job as a high school english teacher, Jacob has gotten the chance to know a great many of the teenagers throughout New York City, somewhat to his dismay.
