Thomas Cabell (R-UT) is the senior senator from The Rocky Mountains. He replaced retiring senator Thomas Fletcher in the 2020 elections, easily defeating his opponent 62.5% to 37.5%. He is up for reelection in 2026 and has already filed with the FEC and begun fundraising efforts.

History

Thomas Cabell was born in Provo, Utah to John and Rachel Cabell. He is the fifth of eight children, three brothers and five sisters. His father worked as a personal accountant for many years, creating his own business and gaining an honest reputation for accountability and trust. Thomas followed in his father's footsteps studying accounting with a minor in political science while at Brigham Young University.

He married his wife Emma Lane, while finishing his second year in school and after having returned from two years of Missionary service in Madrid Spain. They are the proud parents five children. They currently reside in Thomas' hometown of Provo, Utah where he was elected as State Representative for the first time in the current congress. With little political background other than serving on various political action committee groups, he was a suprise choice of the Republican Party, but won soundly in the general election.
