The United States presidential election of 2024 was held on November 5, 2024 and was the 59th consecutive quadrennial election for President and Vice President of the United States. The election coincided with the 2024 Senate elections, House of Representatives elections, and gubernatorial elections, as well as many regional and local elections.

Background

President Akeem Mellis was running for his second term and faced no serious challenge for the Republican nomination. Vice President Tim Kent remained on the ticket with Mellis.

The Democratic primary fielded three candidates, with Vice President Drew Brockmeier winning every primary on his way to the nomination. He picked Mississippi Valley Governor Red Blanchard as his running mate.
