United States Senate

The United States Senate is one of the two chambers of the bicameral United States Congress, the other being the House of Representatives. It is known informally as the "upper house." The Senate consists of 32 senators divided over the 16 regions in USA.

Current majority

After the 2014 elections, the Democratic Party widened its majority in the chamber to a filibuster-proof number of 20 with 12 Republican Senators in the minority. With the resignation of Waylon Grabowski in 2015, the Democrats increased their seats to 21 and the Republicans fell to 11.
