Congresswoman Juliana Hrdy was born May 17, 1974 to Leland and Tom Hardy. Hardy attended Birmingham High School and graduated from Alabama State University in 1986 with a doctorate in Political Science. She worked as an intern for Congressman William Cummings before being elected to the Alabama State Senate for Alabama's 8th District in 1996, before being elected to House of Representatives in 2004, re-elected in 2006 and 2008. She is well known for her friendship with Tennesee Congresswoman Lisa Jean Conroy. She is also famous for proposing a House Resolution allowing her and the congresswoman to have a ladie's night out.
