• Harry Osborn wakes up at the Osborn Mansion to find that it is on fire. He finds his mother dead and is then attacked by a monstrous figure that throws a fireball at him before leaping away into the night.
• May Parker gives a statement to the police where she relates how a burglar broke into the Parker house and shot Ben in the living room. During the statement, a broadcast comes over the police radio about a man who tried to rob a Popeye’s chicken. The police have him trapped in an abandoned warehouse. Peter runs out of the house and attempts to catch the burglar himself.
• Peter confronts the burglar in the warehouse and proceeds to beat him into unconsciousness. When getting his first close look at the burglar’s face, he realizes that it is the same man he let go on the city streets the night before (Ultimate Spider-Man 4). Peter examines the burglar’s wallet, takes his license, and leaves him suspended from a rope for the cops to find.
• Peter takes the advice his uncle gave him to heart and vows to use his powers responsibly. He spends the remainder of the night fighting crime. When he returns home, MJ is waiting for him at his house. She tells him that his aunt is staying with her family. Peter breaks down and cries in her arms.
Notes:
- First appearance of Ultimate Captain John Stacy. He is identified as being head of the police unit that arrives at the warehouse.
