Otto Octavius stands in Justin Hammer’s office that he has broken into and converses with a painting of Mr. Hammer that hangs on the wall. Otto refers to Hammer as "evil" and identifies that Hammer had paid him to provide him with inside information from Osborn Industries. Otto indicates that he cannot remember what happened with the explosion at the Osborn labs and assumes that they were caused by Mr. Hammer. Otto then destroys the painting and vows to ruin Justin Hammer.

Peter Parker observes a commercial for a reality television show starring an Australian hunter named “Kraven the Hunter” while searching for mentions of Otto Octavius. He claims to be coming to New York City to broadcast a live show where he will hunt “the wildest game of them all”.

• Captain John Stacy has a conversation with Gwen at his office about her pulling a knife on a student at school. Gwen begins to walk out of the office because her father does not ask why she pulled the knife. Gwen indicates that she did this because a bully was picking on “this cute little Peter Parker boy for no reason” and that no one was doing anything about it. Their conversation is interrupted by a call from Ben Urich who is further investigating the Otto Octavius story. He informs Captain Stacy that the murder site on Rancine was the previous home of Octavius, and that he has been sighted in the area.

• After the phone call, Captain Stacy tries to catch up to his daughter but is intercepted by two federal agents also inquiring about the homicide case on Racine.

• At the Bugle, while Ben Urich is realizing that Captain Stacy has hung up on him, Robbie Robertson is asking for volunteers for someone to investigate the break-in at Hammer Towers. He identifies that a tourist has a home video of a “crawling up the side of the building with mechanical arms or something.” Peter hears this announcement and sets off as Spider-Man to investigate.

• Justin Hammer meets with the same federal agents that were questioning Captain Stacy earlier. Hammer indicates that the agents are from S.H.I.E.L.D. and wants to know what their interest in the break-in is. They ask him about his relationship with Otto Octavius. Hammer admits that he has met Otto to which the agents reply that Colonel Fury will need more info than that. Hammer tells the agents to have Fury call him directly for further info. The agents indicate that Octavius has been in the custody of S.H.I.E.L.D. since the explosion at Osborn Industries but has escaped. They also inform Hammer about Otto’s condition and that he has amnesia and doesn’t remember the explosion. They also warn Hammer that they believe he is Otto’s next target.

Spider-Man is shown to be clinging to the outside of the broken office windows listening to this conversation; he is spotted by the federal agents who fire at him. Spider-Man retreats.

Kraven the Hunter is shown arriving at a New York airport with his wife and bodyguards. He makes the claim that he is going to hunt Spider-Man and kill him with his bare hands.

Notes:

- The painting that Otto Octavius has a conversation with is revealed to actually be of Justin Hammer’s father. - While Peter is watching the “Kraven the Hunter” commercial, surrounding televisions show images of the Hulk, Iron Man, and an artist’s sketch of the Lizard on various other channels.

- Peter is personally concerned with locating Otto because he believes that Otto could determine his secret identity. Otto Octavius took a blood sample from Peter Parker in Ultimate Spider-Man 2. Peter indicates that he would like to be able to sit down with Otto and talk about what has happened to him.

- Captain Stacy’s first name is identified as John by the federal agents investigating the case.

- Ben Urich refers to the murder site as Rancine, but the federal agents refer to it as Racine.
