Peter Parker is a 15 year old boy who works as the Daily Bugle's webmaster. He got the job opportunity when selling the Bugle their first photos of Spider-Man. It was a "right place, right time" moment as Betty Brant, the previous webmaster, was having a stress breakdown from frustration at performing the job. Peter Parker, being a bit of a computer nerd, offered her some advice on the scripting for the site. He had the luck to offer this help in front J. Jonah Jameson, who offered him a part-time job of performing this duty for the company.

Using his secret identity of Spider-Man, Peter has used his employment at the Bugle to achieve some of his super hero goals discreetly. He anonymously provided Ben Urich with security tapes from Wilson Fisk's office, that clearly showed the Kingpin killing Freddie Foswell. This allowed Urich to write a column and a subsequent book, which exposed much of the Kingpin's shady dealings and forced the crime lord out of the country temporarily while his lawyers cleared the mess up.

Peter is young and vocal about issues that often conflict with Jameson's opinions. Most of these involve JJJ's work to portray Spider-Man as a criminal. Peter's vocalizations have gotten him fired once. He was fired temporarily a second time for missing a few days of work due to his double life.
