Same Ordeal Syndrome

Chew Toy meets Running Gag in a Morbid Running Gag, in the "simple" action of a character having the same nasty thing happen to him season after season, or even Once An Episode. It can range from dangerous to not bothering the victim, but it keeps happens and sometime, someone notices.

• Code Geass has Lelouch losing a loved one once a season, or family in general.
• Bleach's Ichigo keeps winding up with a hole in his chest... He Gets Better.
• One Piece's Nami ditching the crew (albeit for serious and Tear Jerker reasons). It seemed to never come up again after the Arlong arc (which was already her second running away). What does she do when she loses all her memories with the crew? If that seemed justified, she does it again in the tenth movie, for the sake of her island.

• John Crichton has been cloned once in the first series, and again (more permanent and more equal) in a further series.
• Usually treated seriously in Stargate (the team cares about him a lot, after all), but Daniel coming back from seeming death all the time eventually reached these proportions, complete with plenty of lampshading.
• The mythos of Supernatural has many, many, many Winchesters making Deal With The Devil to save their loved ones. After season 3, it gets its healthy dose of lampshades.
• In Charmed, out of the many things Pheobe does, she keeps winding up with evil boyfriends, Cole being the Most Triumphant Example. A Demon of the Week even tells her her biggest fear is that she'd ever turn evil on her sisters.
