Virtual Box settings
Boot-up screen
When it boots up, it'll automatically run Apache and MySQL servers. It should also do DHCP to get an IP address. It might take time for the DHCP to acquire the IP but when it does, you should see it on the boot-up console.
Login with:
username: dsl password: password
The root details:
username: root password: password
Firefox
Upon login, the "Dillo" web browser starts up. You can safely close it and start "Firefox" instead. Then point the browser to "http://localhost".
XAMPP
Once Firefox connected to localhost, you should see the XAMPP page. There are some links on the left pane that you can click to gain more details about the installation. This is the default page loaded by the web server and you can easily change this.
Shutdown
You can shutdown DSL by using the mouse, "Right Click" on the desktop and point to "Power Down" then select "Shutdown".
File transfer
The setup includes an FTP server to ease file transfers. Simply use your favorite FTP client program, whether Windows-based or Linux-based or MAC-based. Then point it to the IP Address of your virtual machine. For this to work, you need to have bridged the Virtual Box network interface to your physical interface. Click here for more info.
