Malau

From Tribewanted

A village on Vanua Levu and just behind Mali. It is a short boat ride away from Vorovoro and is sometimes used as a drop off/collection point for the tribewanted boat, or if you are on the boat from Labasa, you will see Malau on your right as you are about half way from the river mouth to Vorovoro.

Malau is identifiable as it is home to Fiji Forest Industries (FFI) - a huge saw mill that can be seen from some distance!! It is also where a fuel station is and sometimes the larger ships will come in to collect or drop fuel.

FFI also provides a lot of employment for the boys from that side of Vanua Levu.
