Students in the UK study maths which can be broken down into three areas:
1. The Artin-Mazur zeta function
2. Right angles
3. Standard Deviations: How odd a mathmatician can be while still being normal.
4. Integration: How to fit into normal society after studying maths. Mastering this subject leads to paid employment as a bookkeeper.
Students in the United States only study the last of these, so they refer to maths as math.
