Chad is a quiet kind of guy, but in no means is he shy. Due to his body size, he can come off as quite and intimidating individual. This is however, far from the real truth of who he is. Chad is very kind. He has a strong weakness towards cute things that usually come in the form of plushies or animals. He is also one to refuse fighting back most of the time given that he made a vow to never raise his fists to harm others. Due to his promise with his friend Ichigo, he had made the promise to fight to protect others. Chad rarely ever says more then is neccessary most of the time, and usually keeps his sentences to few words. To his friends, Chad is loyal and highly protective of them, to those that threaten his friends, he holds no anger towards, but will fight till his friends are no longer threatened.

Chad has two armored arms that he can summon. The one on his right arm is called Brazo Derecha de Gigante, and it is his defensive arm. The one on his left arm is called Brazo Izquierda del Diablo, which is his offensive arm.

Chad was born in Okinawa, Japan. Very early in his age, his parents took him to Mexico. His parents were killed and his assumed Grandfather, Oscar Joaquin de la Rosa, adopted him.
While still young, Chad was very violent and used his size and build to his advantage and hurt those that annoyed him. Originally, his Grandfather tried to steer him away from his violent ways, but was not successful initially. It wasn't until the father of the children who Chad had hurt had sought him out to punish him by his own methods. Before the father could severely harm him, His grandfather stepped in and took Chad's punishment without raising a single hand in defense. This inspired Chad to become more of a better person.
After the encounter, Oscar gave Chad a Mexican coin, which had the words "Republica Mexicana" engraved on it. It wasn't until years later when his Grandfather died that the coin became the most important thing in his life. After his death, Chad vowed on the coin that his Grandfather gave him that he would raise his fists to fight unless he was protecting someone else even if his own life was in danger.
After his Grandfather died, Chad returned to Japan once again and attended Mashiba Junior High School. He was involved with many gangsters, so ganged a reputation as a ruthless person himself. He only really started to gain friends when he helped Ichigo against a group of thugs who had him outnumbered. Ichigo would probably be considered his first and best friend.
Unfortunately, Chad made an enemy he would regret later. He was caught off guard and the thugs took advantage of this to rough him up. It was at this point that his most prized possession; his Mexican Coin given by his Grandfather was almost destroyed. Luckily, Ichigo saved his coin and also had the thugs hospitalized. From there on, Ichigo made a promise with Chad that they would fight for each other.
Years later, Chad became aware of the presence of the creatures known as Hollows when he was attacked by one relentlessly for possessing a Cockatiel that contained the spirit of a boy who had indirectly killed the man before he became a Hollow. It was at that point that Chad's unnatural powers became present when he was able to punch the Hollow regardless of the fact that he could not see it.
He did not remember the encounter due to a "Random Memory Generator" device that was used on him to make him forget what had happened. His second encounter with a Hollow resulted in him unlocking his powers, which came in the form of an armored right hand. He did not forget that situation, but it was at that point that he and Orihime learned of Ichigo's secret and the existence of Spirits, Shinigami and Hollows. Not only that, but their powers as well.
The disappearance of Rukia, the Soul Reaper who had lost her powers to Ichigo, caused him, Ishida, Orihime, and Ichigo to train for several days to control and utilize their powers. All four of them made their way to the soul society to rescue Rukia. They all fought for their lives there, and after several hours of fighting. They learned of the true mastermind behind everything. Rukia's capture, the death of the councilmen, and the object hidden within Rukia's soul. They were praised as heroes to the Soul society for indirectly revealing the true culprits.
It was not long after that that stronger Hollows, known as the Arrancar appeared. Chad was completely outmatched by the weakest Espada. He had lost his armored arm, but thanks to the abilities of Orihime, she regenerated it entirely. He was about to fight alongside Ichigo during their second encounter. However, Ichigo refused to let him fight. He realized that he was not strong enough to even fight beside his friend anymore and could not fulfill their promise to each other.
He requested from Urahara, the man that trained Ichigo that he train Chad until he was strong enough to fight alongside Ichigo once again. He trained for several days without rest against Renji's Ban Kai in order to get stronger. The training showed him how to release his right arm into its true form. Before leaving for Hueco Mundo, Chad had to show Ichigo how much stronger he had gotten in order to prove to his friend that he could still fulfill the promise to him.
While in Hueco Mundo, Had felt that there was something odd about how his powers reacted to the place. He found out that his powers were more akin to that of a Hollow�s when he was able to release his other armored arm, Brazo Izquierda del Diablo. He was able to defeat one of the former Espada's with this arm and proceeded on to discover one of the actual Espadas. He tried to end the fight with one blow from his left arm, however, the Espada was far more powerful, and cut his chest open and also managed to cut through the shield of his right defensive arm. Chad tried for one more attack, and was stopped by one of the lesser Arrancar.
He fell, defeated by one of the Espada and Vanished from Hueco Mundo.
