Reno is a unique individual. At first glance, Reno comes off as the First Class Pervert, complete with ogling, groping, and of course, flirting. There is almost never a moment that he isn't flirting with anything that has two legs and a set of twins. Reno is often sometiems full of himself, giving him some what of a cocky attitude. He sometimes also has a tendancy to be rather cynical of situations. Traits such as arrogant, and lazy also describe him very well. He can be a might bit unpredictable, making him sometimes a dangerous person to be on the wrong side of. It can also be a good thing, when he is given the opportunity of showing that he's more than just a simple flirt. Reno takes great pride in what he does best, including his job, which he makes sure is always down professionally and through any means neccessary.

Reno's body has been fused with Mako. This makes him very quick on his feet as well as with his other limbs and able to take more damage than a normal human. He is also stronger from the fusion, but it does not match the strength of some of the other Turks.

Reno is a prominent member of the Turks. Not much is known prior to him being a Turk, except the fact that he was born and raised in Midgar. The Turks are the unofficial Investigators Division of General Affairs Department of the Shinra Electric Power Company. Of all the Turks, Reno is the one that sticks out like a sore thumb. This is in no way unsupported by his attitude, volume and method of how he simply does things. The purpose of his job is to perform several tasks under Shinra's command such as espionage, kidnappings, and assassinations. They also scout for candidates for Shinra's elite military unit, SOLDIER. They also maintain a bodyguard status to Shinra executives.
Before he was pulled through a wormhole, Reno was facing a crisis in his universe. A man by the name of Sephiroth had reappeared after several years later after his former and assumed demise and started his plans to destroy that world. Previously, his assignment had been to simply take down the eco-terrorist group known as AVALANCHE as well as capture the Ancient(The first human species on that planet), known as Areith. His first attempts at apprehending her were stopped by Cloud, a member of AVALANCHE.
In order to annihilate the group AVALANCHE, Reno was selected to be the one two blow up Sector 7, where the hideout of AVALANCHE was. He was successful in his mission and the explosion collapsed the plate above the Sector, killing everyone who was underneath it, including three members of AVALANCHE. It was that same night that the President of Shinra was murdered.
After Sephiroth killed the President of Shinra and his son inherited his position, the priorities with the Turks changed from capturing Areith, to taking down Sephiroth, who posed a far larger threat than AVALANCHE could. Their goal was also assisting Shinra with finding out where the Promised Land is. In their mission to take down Sephiroth, they had no such look, having absolutely no clue of his whereabouts. They did however, run into the reamins of AVALANCHE, who were hot on Sephiroth's trail most of the time. And when ordered to engage, they did not succeed most of the time. Save for the exception when the Turks agreed to team up with the remnants of AVALANCHE so they could save their comrade.
When Cloud killed Sephiroth, Reno was there to witness as the planet gathered the Lifestream to repel the Meteor. However, he never did figure out what happened after that, for he ceased to exist in that world right then and there.
