[edit] Personality

A very laid back if not snarky attitude towards others. Nero is very impatient and quite rude to others. Nero often makes wise cracks in the most interesting of situations, often angering others for his lack of respect and or seriousness to the situation. Being a more than capable fighter has aided in inflating his ego, making him quite cocky in situations that lead to fighting. Nero extends deeper feelings to very few people, namely, the girl who convinced her family to take him in when he was an orphan. He can extend his more softer side to others, it is, however, often hidden behind his quick temper and mouth.

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Nero posseses an armored arm that glows with power. It is known as the Devil Bringer. Contact with a demon during one of his missions has granted him this power. Due to his heritage, it is symbiotic in nature with him. That is not to say that it has a mind of it's own. Being mostly human though, the arm tends to crave power almost constantly. The arm contains great strength and is capable of extending a spectral form of itself out to a distance to grab foes. Aside from is arm, Nero is not entirely human, and thus, his skills are also abnormal from that of a humans.

[edit] History

Nero was originally an orphan till his Kyrie convinced her family to take him in. Due to this kindness, Nero is deeply caring of Kyrie. Growing up in a town that worshipped a Dark Knight by the name of Sparda. It didn't take long when he was older for Nero to join the Order of the Sword. A group dedicated to protecting the followers of the Faith and His Holiness, a supposed Prophet. They also dedicate their lives to the extermination of demons. Nero is not one to work along side others very well, and prefers to work alone. Because of this, he is given most of the dirty jobs handed down by the order.

One particular assignment left Nero injured, and incapable of taking up missions for a while. It wasn't long after his accident that he noticed demons appearing more frequently. Still capable of exterminating them easily without the use of one of his arms, Nero did not bother informing anyone of these appearances and merely carried out their execution while going about his life. One day while at the cathedral, the Prophet and most of the townsfolk sat in prayer when a man in red dropped down from the stained glass windows and executed the Prophet. Nero watched as the man executed members of the Order of the Sword. It was only until his friend; Kyrie came at risk that Nero jumped in, fighting off Dante.

During the fight, Nero's demon arm was revealed. Nero suspected it to have been a result of his injury. He didn't however; waste any time in using it against Dante. It proved to be a formidable weapon. Just when Nero thought he killed the assailant, by throwing him against the statue and then impaling him with his own sword, Nero thought he was victorious. That is, until Dante pulled himself out of the statue and then his sword, proving who the real victor was.

Dante revealed the presence of the demonic members of the Order of the Sword before making his getaway. Nero was ordered by Kyrie's brother, Credo, to chase him down and bring him in. Nero leaves to find that demons are appearing more frequently and are now attacking the citizens of the town. As he ventures out, he annihilates all demons in his path, including the more powerful ones. He eventually stumbles upon a laboratory belonging to a member of the Order known as Agnus. Here he discovers that one of the Order's own is responsible for creating demons. Using his own weapons against him, he intrudes on his reinforced laboratory and confronts him. It's there that he learns that his Holiness is still alive somehow. Nero is then ambushed and pinned against the wall with a sword in his chest. Before he goes unconscious, the presence of a sword called Yamato is called to him and unleashes more power within his being, allowing him to heal his wounds and annihilate Agnus's bodyguards.

With his new power, Nero begins his new destination and mission. To find out what is going on. He fights demons relentlessly as he treks through the woods to Headquarters. Outside the entrance to headquarters, he is confronted with Kyrie's brother who demands his arrest under orders of his Holiness. When Nero refuses, he changes into that of a Demon, claiming he has been the first to ascend to the form of an Angel. Nero fights against Credo until he is defeated. As he is about to confront him, he hears the voice of Credo's sister, who is shocked to see Nero with such an arm standing over her injured brother. Nero attempts to explain himself when Agnus appears and takes Kyrie hostage. He flees with her, goading Nero to follow him. After witnessing this, Credo ventures out to find answers to this betrayal, leaving Nero to find his friend.

Climbing to the tallest level of Headquarters, Nero faces Agnus in battle and defeats him. He is sure at this point that he has won when he is attacked by more demons and his Holiness arrives dressed in battle armor. While Nero is distracted with the demons, his Holiness takes Kyrie away, leaving Nero behind only with the pendant he gave her as a gift. Nero grieves at his failure before regaining himself and attempting to chase after her once again. His chase takes him deeper and deeper into headquarters before he finds what he was looking for after along. A giant statue of Sparda, resides in the center. And his Holiness, surrounded by unnatural power, stands waiting.

Realizing that the man respected by all the citizens has become the very thing he vowed to hunt and destroy, Nero battles him, not caring whether or not he is human anymore. Just as he is about to strike the killing blow, he brings up Kyrie as a shield and takes the opportunity of hesitance to restrain him by manipulating the statue to grab him. He explains how he has taken citizens and merged them with the heart of the statue to imbue it with life. Having now a descendant of Sparda in his grasp as well as the sword, Yamato, his Holiness merges Nero with the statue's heart, engulfing him in darkness before he appears in a world unlike his own.
