[edit] Personality

Hiko is a rude, crass man who makes no hesitation to point out other's faults. He likes to demean his student and embarass him in order to cajole Kenshin to train harder. Even though he forces Kenshin to train hard and has a narcessistic personality, he feels he has a responsibility to take care of Kenshin and others he vowes to protect. He keeps to himself and remains out of the public eye as much as he can, preferring to be antisocial. When he is out in public, he will hit on women frequently to obtain free stuff.

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Sisho is in top physical form and holds the title of The thirteenth successor of Hiten Mitsurugi-RyÅ« and is a superior swordsman even to Kenshin. The sword technique was developed for Hiko's body type, so it does not tax him as it does Kenshin. Even though he's been aged to his mid forties, the man looks no older than his late twenties. The kendo technique of Hiten Mitsurugi-RyÅ« is the art of drawing one's blade quickly and killing without wasting a move. He has a strong warrior's Ki, and a cunning tactical mind.

[edit] History

Hiko rescued Kenshin when he was a young boy from bandits. At the time, Kenshin was known as Shinta, yet Hiko named the child Kenshin, for he believed that Shinta was too soft a name for a swords man. Until Kenshin was 14, Hiko taught the boy the Hiten Mitsurugi-RyÅ« technique in a secluded house in the mountains, away from the general public. When the boy learned of the rebellion against the Tokugawa regime, he left Hiko to join them against Hiko's wishes. Hiko knew that the boy could defeat warriors much older than 14, but also knew Kenshin did not have the strength and wisdom of those older men. He was not ready for the world and became angry that Kenshin left. Hiko decided not to deal with the outside world and its problems and became a hermit of sorts, earning his living by being a potter in a remote piece of land in the mountains. He did not see his student for fifteen years, when Kenshin returned to finish his training to defeat an enemy.
