Frederic Chopin is one of the most romantic figures in musical history. He was dreamy, tender, womanish, and elusive. And just what he was as a man, that he was as a composer. In his works are clearly mirrored his own daintiness and sensitiveness; his own feeling for the romantic and the beautiful.
He has always been a shy, soft spoken man, preferring to perform for small groups of friends rather then give a full concert. He suffers from severe performance anxiety, describing the three days before a public concert as being tortuous.
He is very kind, soft spoken, and modest. He finds a great delight in being a teacher of music, putting forth as much enthusiasm into teaching as he does to his own music. Some of his works were actually written for his students to help aid in the learning process. His students often look up to him as a father figure.
Though he never married, he was often enough in love. Somebody says he could fall in and out of love in an evening; and that a crumpled rose-leaf was sufficient to induce frowns and capricious flights. This is an exaggeration; but undoubtedly Chopin did find that it "harmonised the soul" to be in love. Chopin, in fact, loved but often lacked the courage to speak out. Instead, he put his passion on music paper and played it.
While on his death bed, he slips into a dream world where everything is based around music in some way. Since he believes it to be his dream, he doesn't keep it a secret. On occasion he'll speak about it with the companions he met on his journey. None of them understand him, or really believe him, and have proven on a number of occasions why this reality couldn't be a dream.
At times he doubts himself, becoming confused about which reality is the true one, since both are so real to him. He always finds resolve, clinging to the memories of Paris and Warsaw to keep him moving forward to find the answers he needs. He is quiet most of the time, watching from the outskirts as the others interact, occasionally interjecting a thought here or there whenever he feels it's needed.

His abilities are dictated by whether or not he is standing in light or shadow. If he's standing in the light he can perform the Sacred Signature, which forms bathes a friend in light to heal them. If he's standing in the shadows he can perform the Piu Grave, which is an offensive ability, causing dark energy to erupt under an enemy.

Named Fryderyk Franciszek, Chopin was born in the village of Zelazowa Wola, Duchy of Warsaw, to a Polish mother and French-expatriate father. Frederic grew up culturally Polish and never attained equal mastery of the French language. It was to Warsaw that, at the end of his life, he literally bequeathed his heart.
At the age of seven he was already the author of two polonaises (G minor and B flat major); the first was published in the engraving workshop of Father Cybulski, director of a School of Organists and one of the few music publishers in Poland.
Hailed in his homeland as a child prodigy, at the age of twenty Chopin left Poland forever. In Paris, he made a career as performer, teacher and composer, and he adopted the French version of his given name, Frederic-Fransois.
From 1837 to 1847 he had a turbulent relationship with the French writer George Sand (Aurora Dudevant) that ended badly. Always in frail health, at 39 in Paris he succumbed to pulmonary tuberculosis. There are many who believe that due to his gentle, romantic nature, his sudden spiraling health and subsequent death was due to a broken heart.
During the last hours of life, Frederic slips into a dream that is influenced by his life and music. The dream world is controlled by two major kingdoms at war, the powerful Forte ruled by Count Waltz, and Baroque led by Captain Crescendo.
He meets Polka, a young woman that resides in Forte. She has a sickness that she knows will take her life someday, but as part of her aliment, she is able to use magic, which scares most other people. She tries to make a living selling floral powder as a healing agent, but cannot compete with the extremely cheap "mineral powder" that Count Waltz has made available tax free throughout the kingdom, as well as the tax she must pay on her floral powder.
The pair later encounter two young orphan boys, Allegretto and Beat, who are also attempting to see Count Waltz in order to lower taxes so that they can feed other orphans in their town, and Viola, a shepherd who also has a score to settle with the count. The quintet are arrested before reaching Forte Castle, mistaken for members of a resistance group that is working to overthrow Count Waltz.
They managed to escape the dungeons and try to make their way outside the boarders of Forte City and Fort Fermata, only to be stopped on a bridge by General Tuba. After being defeated, Tuba destroys the bridge, dropping Frederic and his companions to the raging river far below.
Frederic and only a small number of his friends were rescued from the river by Captain Crescendo and brought upon his ship to recover. Their ship was attacked by a number of pirates. They were able to escape and made it safely to the snowy land of Baroque.
