Let's face it: Final Fantasy VIII had no chances of being better than Final Fantasy VII. This one had a pretty weak and somewhat uninventive plot with mixed all sorts of politically correct "flowers and sunshine" - crap that really angered me. It is still a fairly mediocre and naturally playable part of the saga, but it left much to be desired.
