Jake 2.0 is a spy-fi TV series centered on Jake Foley, an NSA computer technician who becomes infected with experimental nanites and develops superpowers. Many of his biological functions are improved, granting him super strength and speed, acute hearing, low-light vision, and rapid healing. His most prominent new ability, however, is remote wireless control over computers. Jake is able to interface with any computer or computer-controlled device, from a range of up to thirty feet. The devices in question do not have to be equipped for wireless communication. The proliferation of such devices throughout modern society makes Jake's ability very useful.

Once the agency recognizes Jake's new abilities, they make him a field agent in order to take the best possible advantage of what he can do. The series is set in Washington, D.C.

• Sarah Carter – Legislative director for Senator Thompson. Went to Georgetown University with Jake Foley, who has a crush on her.
• Kyle Duarte – NSA field agent. Jake Foley's partner and mentor.
• Jake Foley – computer technician turned NSA field agent when he developed nanite-induced superpowers.
• Diane Hughes – NSA scientist who inherited the nanite project and became the primary authority on Jake's abilities and condition.

• Mr. Carter – Went missing during Operation Desert Storm while testing classified weapons systems. Sarah Carter's father.
• Darin Metcalf – College friend and former roommate of Jake Foley.
• Senator Thompson – Sarah Carter's employer.

• Congressman Williams – Member of the Agriculture Committee.
• Mei Ling Wong – Chinese double agent. Former lover of Kyle Duarte.

• Doctor Gage – NSA researcher turned traitor and murderer. Killed by NSA security.
• John Ramsey – Senior engineer for GDLS. Killed by Chinese agents during the theft of his laptop.
• Eric Vaughn – Black market arms dealer with ties to the IRA. Killed by Jake Foley.
• Nicholas Wright – NSA field agent. Call name "Sandstorm." Killed by Abdul Tiranzi.

• al Juhuara – Middle-Eastern terrorist organization.

Government Agencies

• NSA – The central organization of the show, involved not only in signals intelligence but also advanced research and field operations.

• Chemdyne – Operates a cryogenic research facility in Washington, D.C.
• GDLS – Military subcontractor. Designers of large-scale weapons systems, including next-generation tanks.
