Jake 2.0 is a spy-fi TV series centered on Jake Foley, an NSA computer technician who becomes infected with experimental nanites and develops superpowers. Many of his biological functions are improved, granting him super strength and speed, acute hearing, low-light vision, and rapid healing. His most prominent new ability, however, is remote wireless control over computers. Jake is able to interface with any computer or computer-controlled device, from a range of up to thirty feet. The devices in question do not have to be equipped for wireless communication. The proliferation of such devices throughout modern society makes Jake's ability very useful.

Once the agency recognizes Jake's new abilities, they make him a field agent in order to take the best possible advantage of what he can do. The series is set in Washington, D.C.

• Deputy Director Louise Beckett – NSA executive. Jake Foley's and Kyle Duarte's boss. Former Blackhawk pilot during Gulf War I, where she was known as Tankbuster. Speaks German.
• Sarah Carter – Legislative director for Senator Thompson. Went to Georgetown University with Jake Foley, who has a crush on her.
• Susan Carver – NSA tech agent under Louise Beckett.
• Kyle Duarte – NSA field agent. Jake Foley's partner and mentor.

• Executive Director Valerie Warner – NSA executive. Intent on controlling or destroying Jake Foley. Ex-wife of Carl Warner.

• General Iniko Baako – Radical paramilitary leader in South Kembu. Led a successful coup against the government of King Namir, but then had to fight his successor, Prince Malik.
• Doctor Mark Benton – Former NSA psychiatrist. Performed psych evaluations, lie detector tests. Allied with DuMont. Currently in federal custody.
• Big Mick – Pit fighter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
• Bit – Hacker who worked with (and was misled by) DuMont. Currently in federal custody.
• Alex Brandt – Former NSA field agent, explosives and munitions expert. Captured during an operation in Serbia. POW from 1998 to 2004. Blamed Beckett for abandoning him; tried to kill her. Currently under psychiatric treatment.
• Jennifer Brandt – Alex Brandt's wife. Also a federal agent.
• Caesar – Former owner of the Palace in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; operator of the pit fighting ring there. Currently in custody for trying to steal $10 million in bearer bonds.
• Theresa Carano – International arms dealer, dealing in Micro-Semtex (ten times as powerful as Semtex). Daughter of Ruben Carano. Currently in federal custody.
• Mr. Carter – Went missing during Operation Desert Storm while testing classified weapons systems. Sarah Carter's father.
• Steve Clemens (b. 11/13/1969, Alexandria, Virginia) – NSA cryptographer. Dirty agent who attempted to abduct and sell Diane Hughes. Currently in federal custody.
• Elena Dankova – Former KGB operative. Still fighting for the Soviet Union as a true believer. Attempted in 1986 to sabotage the Wilmington Nuclear Facility. Currently in federal custody.
• Carl Devereaux – Former MI5 agent. Vasily Koronkiewicz cut off both of his hands in an act of intimidation and malice.
• Jerry Foley (b. ca. 1984) – College student. Jake Foley's younger brother.
• Richard Fox – Legendary NSA agent, retired. Single-handedly captured Mikhail Itzach Petrovich in the 1980s, the beginning of the end for the KGB. Point man on Elena Dankova. Suffers a split personality. Possibly cyber-enhanced.
• Fran – NSA scientist. Diane Hughes' assistant.
• Ethan Fulton – Militia leader, American domestic terrorist. Currently in federal custody. Husband of Ann Fulton; father of Caleb Fulton.
• Gilmore – Prison guard at Federal Corrections Institute, Cumberland.
• Angela Hamilton – Former CIA agent who went rogue and stole Varcon gas from the Densmore Research Facility to avenge her sister's death in Central America.
