[edit] Appearance
Garbed in loose fitting grey robes, most of Senna’s figure is hidden beneath the deep folds of cloth. Her skin is pale from illness and prone to burning so unless there is a need she covers herself completely to shelter herself from the harsh desert sun. Despite the fact that it covers her entire body the cloth is reflective and lightweight making it easier for Senna to move about outside. She constantly wears a pair of black leather gloves and when not sleeping her feet are covered by a set of black leather boots. Straps encircle the ankle of the footwear providing more ankle support for the caster.
Senna herself, though rarely seen because of the veil she wears in front of her face, is a pretty girl, short sky-blue hair, that would be wavy if it was longer and eyes of matching color. Upon closer inspection of her eyes her dragon heritage would show through since the pupils are slightly ovular in shape as opposed to the standard round pupil found in humans. Her skin is paler than that of almost all denizens of the country, due to illness as a child, and a continued lack of time in the sun. The only thing that mars her beauty is the dark rings beneath her eyes that are a tell tale sign of her chronic cough.
[edit] Biography
Born into the family of a regular human mother and a half-manakete father Senna was considered a normal child amongst her people. What set her apart however was the fact that she was incredible sickly since birth. Her mother would often stay up late just to watch over her making sure she kept breathing. Her sickness continued throughout her early childhood, though this stage in her life lasted twice as long as a standard human’s would.
Her light frame couldn’t handle the normal stress of life, leaving her bed ridden with nothing to do but read. She devoured books on a regular basis and quickly read through her parent’s library and requested more. She was particularly interested in magic and eagerly read anything she could get her hands on. She found out that she had more of an affinity for the Elder school of magic and so she decided to focus on that. It was both physically and mentally taxing to use what most called “Dark magic” but she found herself to be able to handle at least that much stress.
Eventually the magic actually seemed to help her condition and soon the sickly girl began to learn to walk again. Years later she was the apprentice of one of the many practitioners of elder magic. It was there that she put her book learning to use, improving formulas, calculating casting times and amount of damage received from the spells. She was eventually transferred to research and development where she remained for twenty years, until the present date.
She isn’t overly happy with her life since her illness still clings to her and no physician had been able to find an exact cause to the problem. Often she has been quoted as saying: “I don’t count my inherited longevity to be a blessing, nay it is a curse, forced to stay in this weak body for at least twice the duration of others.” She continues to cling to life though, and probably will for some time.
