[edit] Biography
Malan was born in a small town in the country of Sullio, a part of the Endal Empire. His parents were two bedines; they traveled the sands, and Malan liked to find items in the sands. He learned to become a cleric and use staves. And within the sands, he found many good staves. He practiced with these, and became stronger and stronger with them. At that time, he researched into types of magic, wanting to choose what school he would use later.
His parents wanted him to get a formal education, so they sent him off to Cercium. While he studied there under an ordinary teacher, he learned of many things that interested him, including other cultures. The culture of the Ainori especially fascinated him, what with the fact that they had a multitude of gods. The man took boat across the inland sea and then made his way to Aix-La-Chappelle. After a few in-depth studies of the gods, he ran off to Tavrica, disguising himself as a travelling merchant as he made his way through the Thanedoms. He continued to keep this appearance until he accessed Endal via the inland sea. Here, of all places, he met a Kaeldarian. Malan had been researching a creature called the Gorna. The Kaeldarian had seemed to have a personal experience with the monster. Fascinated, Malan listened carefully to his story after healing him (he'd been hurt).
He continued researching in Endal, and eventually met another man who interested him. He was a bishop, but he was part of a group called the Holy Order. He introduced him to Sabian. Malan told Sabian his abilities, and was given a position in the Holy Order. He's been at their side ever since. His duty is to research, heal, and speak. He is an expert on religion, making him good to go to.
His most recent studies have been in Illyria. Of course, while in Illyria, he dressed as a shaman, going slightly unnoticed in the areas he performed research in. An Illyrian text on the gods fascinated him the most, and he also found more information on Gorna there. After that, he returned to Ainor for more Gorna research, and the same thing in Endal. He recently went on a trip to Vadal, hoping to deliver a message to a group of Vadalin mercenaries led by that same Hersir and a friend of his. They embarked on a journey, and Malan ventured to the Vadalin Archipelago to study up on Vadalin religion.
