Arond is tall for a Lequallian, standing at five feet and eleven inches. Many scars cover his face from the many battles he had fought long ago; he's not the most attractive fellow around, and his hardened look doesn't help much. His hair is an odd shade of brown, and is always combed back neatly. He has hazel eyes, with thick eyebrows above them. His short, grizzled beard runs from ear to ear. Although his Lequallian tan gives him away, it is noticeably lighter when compared to other Lequallians. His golden armor is trimmed with the teal of House Rinovindis, and is slightly heavier than that of the armor worn by Hoplites.

Arond's tactical skills are legendary - his knowledge of the battlefield has proven itself many time over - hence his position as Grand Marshal. His fighting ability is also well-rounded, being able to use most weapons, his skill with the sword being most prominent. He is also proficient in the use of Anima Magic, sacred to Ahura. His genius shows when he takes command of infantry units, as he can use the land to its full potential, and the men he commands tend to gain higher morale as a result. It is said that he can command the very heavens, as his voice can be heard for quite a distance. Unfortunately, his skill in naval tactics isn't as good as it should be; in fact, he'd be better off running a shrimp stall rather than a ship.
He is a conqueror by nature, and pushes for Lequall's expansion. Oddly enough, despite his appearance, he is often viewed as a grandfather figure by those he befriends, often playing the role of an old wise man. Has been given the title "The Shield" due to the events he participated in during the Second Morph War.
[edit] Biography
Arond was born into the Rinovindis family, and was soon found to be rather intelligent and promising. At the time that Arond went to the Agoge to train, his father was the Marshal of House Rinovindis. While at the Agoge, Arond showed that he was good with almost all weapons, and trained to ultimately become a Hoplite. He also showed promise to become a good strategist, as he would often set up formations and find all the pros and cons of each. When he graduated as a Milite, he longed for the chance to lead men in battle.
When he was 23, Arond's chance finally came. While stationed at a border fort, a sizable group of enemy forces suddenly attacked and besieged the fort. During the battle, Ephor Praxis, who was commanding the fort at the time, was slain. Arond, being recently promoted to Tagmatarkhis, took command of the remaining troops and managed to force the attackers to retreat. As he was technically the commanding officer at the time, soldiers began to respect him for it, and he was trusted as a leader afterwards.
Not long after turning 26, his father became stricken with a sudden illness. When he died, Arond inherited his father's position, representing House Rinovindis as a Marshal. For the next 30 years, his victories helped bolster his position and helped House Rinovindis become one of the most influential voices in Lequallian matters. Ultimately, his victories helped gain him a unanimous vote into becoming the current Grand Marshal.
