The traditional meaning of 'blockhouse' is:

block·house (blŏk'hous') (n.)

1. A military fortification constructed of sturdy material, such as concrete, and designed with ports for defensive firing or observation.
2. A heavily reinforced building used for launch operations of missiles and space launch vehicles.
3. A fort made of squared timbers with a projecting upper story.

While that is the technical definition, within the Sprawling PlotFics Inc. world, BlockHouse relates to an entirely different scenario. The word has been used to describe several story scenarios, all of which have one thing in common: a very big house and a lot of people living in it. The BlockHouse is not a series, a fort, and any of the above; it instead represents the physical manifestation of SPFI and all it stands for. Thus, within SPFI, the definition of BlockHouse is this, rather than the official meaning:

block·house (blŏk'hous') (n.)

1. A spacious house or building that is shared by several people who are not all married, related, or even acquaintances, much like an apartment building or college dorm.
2. A place were madness is of the normal standard.

This idea is best represented by the scenario Rem, Jester, and Nam periodically work with, involving personifications of characters from all stories they work on, often stating that they have a house of some form, separate rooms (shared with specified roommates for some), an attic, a basement, and any number of other attachments. Most reference however centers around the living/sitting room, dining room, and kitchen.
