Flying Islands of Jasonia
From Soloralwiki
The Flying Islands of Jasonia was founded as a micronation in 2000 by Jason Steffke. When BGI began to create RPGs, the FIoJ and its major players became the foundation of the Control of Destiny Series. As such, the legacy of Jasonia in the games reaches far further into the future than the actual micronation did.

The FIoJ in Control of Destiny
Origins
According to the CoD games, the country was founded by Jason Steffke after he accidentally was given a concept box recovered by the Audentior government. The concept box contained all the working knowledge of antigravity. Young student Jason suddenly found himself able design and construct machines that could defy gravity. After a number of adventures he and a group of engineers produced stronger versions that could lift thousands of tons of matter into the sky with relatively little power required.
Meanwhile the world was beginning to fracture. The AFTP had rebelled against Audentior and the United Demesos and Republic of Ceres declared war. With large-scale battles looking likely on the horizons, Jason and his supporters traveled to Pinkaria, a land that had supposedly been the sight of an ancient magical kingdom (see: Kingdom of Jasonia), and spoke with the provincial leader, Gman Pinky. With Gman's help Jason installed dozens of antigravity devices on Pinkaria and lifted the entire island chain into the sky. The Flying Islands of Jasonia were born.
Though originally founded as a refugee camp the FIoJ quickly developed its own government and indeed its own culture. Many talented minds came to the flying islands and the young country quickly grew powerful. Several political shuffles later and FIoJ found itself controlling the Republic of Tapfer, Republic of Shireroth, Hyperborea, the Republic of Antarctica, and The Confederacy of Hau'oli 'Ena.
Jasonia during Control of Destiny
The FIoJ was a major battleground during the Control of Destiny Campaigns and many important Jasonians got involved. A brief list of important events at Jasonia:
- Time travel was discovered by Matt Trihus and first used in the Kajar fairgrounds. (CoD1)
- The Imperials attacked Jasonia first in their assault on Micras, but time travel prevented the invasion. (CoD1)
- John Sager attempted to manipulate time to first invade the country and then destroy it. Both attempts failed. (CoD1)
- Matt also created a dimensional travel machine in Kajar. (CoD2)
- John Sager took over Jasonia first in an attempt to conquer the world with the Nightcrash. His plan was foiled by loyal armed forces.(CoD)
- Armies from around Micras gathered in Jasonia to attack the Plane of Shadows and engage the forces of the rogue demigoddess Atropos. (CoD2)
- Sai'Kar Lum'Eth sacrificed her life to trap Pure Evil in the City of the Sun. (CoD2)
- Bill Trihus later broke the seal in an attempt to destroy Pure Evil, but was corrupted by it instead and siezed control of the country before being purged. (JDO)
- The Infernals invaded Jasonia and used it as a base of power to take over Micras. The FIoJ was one of the last areas liberated. {JLH)
- Jasonia was finally destroyed in a losing war with Shireroth and Attera, lead by Diga. (CoD3)
