Pre-Deluge history and biography
Kelly Michelle Harpers was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 1, 1979 to a hippie mother and a disco dancing non-conformist father. Four years later her younger sister, Angela Elisabeth, was born in the spring. A year later her father left her mother for a lawyer friend of his. Kelly’s mother had issues, mainly dealing with multiple addiction to heroin, sex, and vodka. Her mother tried for while to get her act together, but in 1989 she had resorted to being a prostitute in Los Angeles skid road district in order to pay for her drugs, rent and such. Life was rough and Kelly had been in a abusive family situation to say the least. By the time she was 10 she had been raped twice, and she had learned to protect herself and her baby sister.
In mid April 1996, a 15, almost 16, year old Kelly left her job as a tutor early because she hadn’t been feeling well. She walked into her mothers tiny two bedroom apartment on hope street in downtown Los Angeles .That is when her life went spinning out of control. The door had been wide opened, and Kelly walked into a crime scene. In the kitchen was her mother, half naked on the floor, blood pooled by the head. In the back bedroom, was her almost twelve year old sister, Angela, on the bed, naked, and her mother’s newest live in 'friend' was prone over her beloved sister’s lifeless body, clearly caught in the act of rape. Angela was clearly dead by the glassy eyes and lack of breath. Kelly grabbed a baseball back by the bedroom door that her mother used for violent johns and proceeded to beat the shit out of the son of a bitch.
In the aftermath, she realized he was dead, or dying and she had to get out of there. She closed her sister’s eyes, and swore she never forget her. She packed a duffel, took the money her mother hid in the cookie jar and under mattress. She then took the money that had been hiding away for two years from her closet under her dolls. She had a total of 5 grand, a bag of bus tokens, and enough clothes for a week.
And with that act. Kelly Michelle Harpers died and Violet Anne Bradbury was born.
Violet ran. She caught a bus east, and landed up in St Louis for three years. She lied about her age, changed her name to her favorite flower, which was Violet. As for her last name she took the name of a famous apartment building, dyed her hair blonde and got a job and an cheap apartment. After three years, she headed farer east, ending up in Illinois about a two hours north of Haven working in a flower shop and living in a small upper apartment over the shop. She finally dyed her hair back to the normal brown which made her look a good five years younger. She began to have friends, and live life again after years of running.
Post-Deluge events
After the Wave:
Violet watched as people she had finally let in to her life, die and vanish, she closed her self up in her apartment.. Then days pasted, then a few weeks, and then she finally started to leave the house. She salvaged for food and supplies. After the months of loneness and fear, she decided to get out of this dead place and head south. Maybe to Haven.
She didn’t know where she was going, she’d know when she got there. All she cared about now was her own survival, as if had been for years. She was riding out of Bushvale on a stolen motorcycle, with only a back pack of foods, and her cd walkman and three cd’s and a bottle of water and saddle bags with clothes in it. Who knew what she will find.
