Appearance
Chidori is a fairly average size, though she insists that she'll grow a few more inches before she's through (not likely). She's certainly pretty, though, and while she's dyed her hair a few times over the years, it's now consistantly a darker shade of strawberry blonde. Obsessed with her image, she keeps on the edge of the latest fashions (both Japanese and French) and can usually get new clothes out of her mother at least once a week. She is especially keen on new shoes and new sunglasses, and loooooves to do her nails. Not just painting them - but covering them with little rhinestones and designs and patterns.
Overall, she carries herself like the cheeky little thing she is - lips puckered, eyes narrowed, looking down at the people around her, knowing (knowing!) that they'll never compare to someone like her.
Chidori's PB is Ayumi Hamasaki.
Personality
Upbeat, confident (a bit too much so), bratty (a way bit much so). Chidori is someone who has gone her whole life as the center of her little world, and she's not too keen on giving that up. Being used to constant attention and pampering, she is easily annoyed when she's ignored or when she's forced to do something she doesn't want to do. She acts like she can get away with everything, and appears genuinely surprised when she gets caught or told 'no'. The whole way she walks, talks, and acts shows a bratty kind of self-importance and she can be very patronizing.
She throws fits when she doesn't get her way; anything from screaming to crying and pouting. Eventually she'll give up, if super!pushed... but she won't be happy about it and you're likely to hear a lot of huffing. She doesn't like people to know, but she enjoys math (it's not abstract, and helpful when shopping...) and chess. But like she'd ever really admit that to people. If you ask, she'd tell you that she hates school, hates chess, and certainly doesn't like anything about being an intellegent person.
History
Chidori's father is the C.E.O. of Itou Heavy Industries, a leader in the Japanese market. He worked hard and remained single for much of the early part of his carreer, settling down with a wife after imbedding himself completely in his company. They had a daughter a year or so after the wedding, and while they both gobbed attention onto her, it was more superficial affection than true parenting - papa with his company and mama with her friends, Chidori found herself quite free to do whatever she felt like. Learning early on that if she cried/threw a tantrum/sucked up her parents would let anything slide, Chidori has never had to live a very structured or disciplined life.
In junior high, she skipped school frequently to go into the city and shop, picked up smoking, and was known for her near endless supply of boyfriends, girlfriends and friends with benefits. She was out of control, but loved it - this was really living! Dancing, karaoke, tattoos and peircings and fashion... what was the point of school, anyway, when you could live your life like this?
But all that changed when her father's parents came to live with them in their ritzy home in Osaka. They were traditional, which while foriegn to Chidori meant nothing in particular... the real problem was that while her parents would ignore things because they were busy, her grandparents really had nothing more to do than to keep an eye on their granddaughter.
This made Chidori a sad panda. Once they had discovered her smoking, tattoos she'd got in secret, choice of friends, innumerable significant others - they put their feet down. Chidori was becoming a deliquent, and she needed to go somewhere to reform. Anywhere in Japan, while preferable, would expose her to a comfortable atmosphere that was within the realm of her father's influence. After a lengthly discussion with her parents ( i.e. they told them what to do), Chidori's fate was decided. Second Heaven was an excellent choice for a foriegn boarding school, as many students there were from pretigious Japanese families.
Aaaaand that's where she's heading now. Though the school year has already begun, her family (see: grandparents) refuse to give her any leeway. It's either shape up or... something worse than that which as yet to be seen.
