Grade 11 English (ENG3U): Persuasive Speaking (November 2006)
Topics will be based on some aspect of the UN Millennium Development Goals:
- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Combat HIV/AIDs, malaria and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability
- Develop a global parternship for development
There is a variety of narrower topics one can develop from any of these goals. Whatever the topic, the need for the information to be current is important, and the need for evidence to support whatever your position is is critical.
