Royal St. George's College-Ryerson Community School Tutoring Partnership
Ryerson Community Public School is a public K-8 school located in the Dundas and Bathurst neighbourhood. The school educates a large number of new Canadians and students whose first language is one other than English. The tutoring partnership gives groups of Ryerson students an opportunity for weekly enrichment in subjects as diverse as literacy, mathematics, art, physical education, environmental studies, music, and science. RSGC boys in grades 8-12 earn opportunities for community involvement, but more importantly, are introduced to the challenges and rewards of teaching, learning, and making new friends.
Each year Nicholas Hoare donates a portion of the sales revenue from Get Caught Reading to RSGC, and the school uses the donation to fund the RSGC-Ryerson partnership. These valuable dollars pay for supplies, TTC fare, and special guests.
If you are interested in learning more about the RSGC-Ryerson partnership contact Ms. Emma Roche at: eroche@rsgc.on.ca.
