Use the platform

Abandoning all thought of battle, you dive for the platform and pummel the up button with your fist. As the cables ascend blessedly fast, the monster leaps out and manages to grasp onto the bottom of the metal grating at your feet. You stomp furiously at the legs that are sticking through the grating and dodge frantically as the giant spider bites at your feet from under and around the railing. You swing the control box on its cable and smash it into the monster's face, it cracks open with a shower of sparks and pieces tumble into the pit below. The platform jerks violently but continues upwards past the edge of the pit towards the girders above. Evil, angry hisses spew forth from the monster as it slashes with its free legs and lunges with its fangs. It gets a solid hit off one shoulder that sends you reeling, almost toppling over the rail, as you bounce back off the rail you notice how high the platform is getting. Dodging the monster's lunges, you resume stomping furiously at the grotesque face as the pair of you rise past the ceiling level of the rest of the area.
A grinding sound above accompanies a shower of sparks and metal shavings, you are now almost to the girders holding the crane system and something tells you that the platform will not remain safe much longer. A cable snaps free and knocks you to your back, you roll sideways as the spider bites for your head. Another cable snaps and the platform pitches violently. You grasp onto the metal railing as the metal lift falls to a vertical, you one one side, the monster on the other. It secures a grip with all eight legs and climbs to the top of the still ascending platform and hisses at you from above. You look up past the creature's head see that you have little cable left before you are both pulled up into the equipment.
Closing your eyes and cursing loudly, you grab a loose hanging cable from the bottom of the platform and swing freely out into empty space. You careen off of one side of ceiling shaft and swing violently over several holding cells. You reach the end of the cable and are flung free. Your body bounces on the glass floor over more holding cells and you slide until you tumble into the back wall. Through the pain you hear a grinding and screeching from above, looking up just in time to see a tumbling twisted mess of blood, monster, fire, and steel crash into the pit below.
You get to your feet unsteadily and assess yourself, no injures except for what are going to be some nasty bruises. Looking around you find yourself near the terminals you saw earlier.
