Holding Cells

Using a steps, you climb up onto the low platform and walk out onto the glass floor. You are standing above a square pit about 3 meters deep. The walls and floor are entirely made of cement, there is a flat slab of foam in one corner for what appears to be a bed. The only access to the pit floor is a small platform suspended above your head that looks to be on some sort of crane system in an elevated section of the ceiling far above your head. The pit you are standing over is one of six identical "holding cells", labeled with large white characters stenciled into the cement wall of each one. A single fluorescent light strip running around the rim of each cell illuminates the pits.
You are standing above Holding Cell 1 and you can look over into number 2. At first it appears that the glass floor above it is simply missing, but as you look closer you notice jagged shards still attached to the metal rim in its channel around the edges. Its light strip flickering unevenly. You lean over and can see that there is dark red blood spattered on the walls and an unidentifiable mass is crumbled in the corner. Something shiny catches your eye underneath the pile of dark material.
Beyond the last holding cell, a workstation holds several terminals that casts a glow onto the ceiling.
The controls for the platform hang on a thick wire at head height, and are tethered to the platform so you can descend into the pit and ascend again with ease.
