Hiro is by nature a cheerful optimist, but current circumstances are forcing him to reevaluate everything he believes. He is easily excited and tends to get loud and gesture wildly. However, being Japanese, he is very adept at putting on masks when he feels necessary to keep social peace or keep things hidden. When angry, he will yell, but if he continues to be angry, he will become more cold and silent (which will probably remind various players of his father). Hiro has a very broad self-righteous streak that is backed by a tremendous guilt complex. He tends to see a lot of the world in black and white terms, especially himself. He will allow for shades of grey in most people, unless they provoke him directly, at which point he will label them "enemy" and will either have nothing to do with them or will enact vengeance appropriately.
Hiro is very loving to his friends. He can never do enough for them and is extremely loyal to them. He won't hear anything said against them. He hates when his friends fight because he can't, in all honesty, choose who is right or wrong. He will usually try to persuade them to either see each other's side or try to win one to the other's side. He can be very diplomatic and charming when he chooses to be.
Probably more than most people, Hiro understands a hierarchy. He is not a leader, despite his position in Kaneyama, lacking a lot of the ambition necessary for leadership. He is quite content to follow and take orders. He is a bit on the lazy side.
