The Iron Curtain was the window-covering, impractically made of iron, that covered the window between Stalin's bedroom and Western Europe. This is why he was called the Man of Steel. The term iron curtain was coined by Winston Churchill when he first pulled aside the iron drapery and exposed Stalin to the sunlight, reducing him to a pile of ashes on the floor.
