[edit] History

Vampires are thought to have come from eastern Europe. No one knows exactly how they first came about, but everyone does know how you can become a vampire: if a vampire bites you on the neck, you are one. Then, you're cursed to walk the earth in search of victims who will also become vampires. It's a sad existence.

[edit] Death Cycle of a Vampire

The vampire must stalk the earth, alone, scrounging for fresh blood. He bites the white necks of young maidens, or the dirty necks of old peasant laborers (preferably maidens), and one way or the other he gets that life blood which feeds his habit. A vampire must sleep during the day in a coffin filled with the dirt of its homeland. If it is exposed to sunlight, it turns to ashes. The only other ways for a vampire to die are:

  • to have a stake pounded into its chest. Most common.
  • to have its corpse buried at a crossroads.
  • to be shot with a silver bullet.

Vampires do not cast a shadow or a reflection. They can easily hypnotize people, and can turn into bats or wolves.

[edit] Famous Vampires

Of course, the most famous vampire of them all is Count Dracula. Other vampires include Carmilla and Nosferatu. According to the 13th Floor Elevators song "The Night of the Vampire," on St. Swithun's Day he was born.
