What is Westlaw?
Westlaw is a gateway containing a large and growing number of databases, which can be searched separately or together. Examples include the UK case locator, UK legislation, Legal Journals index, UK current awareness and EU materials (e.g. cases, legislation, journals, curent awareness).Full text law reports and journals (primarily Sweet & Maxwell titles) can be accessed together with much full text material from the rest of the world, especially the USA, Canada and Australia.
How to use Westlaw
A helpsheet is available for this service in PDF format. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view PDF files and is available on University networked PCs, it is also available free for installation from Adobe.
Access
For on campus access use - Westlaw
Remote access is also available via the ATHENS service.
Once you have registered, direct access is available via the Internet at the Westlaw Athens login page.
