Finding Information
Legal information comes in many different formats. There are books, journals as well as material available over the internet via databases and websites. These pages have been set up to point you in the right direction to the resources you need.
Books
In the Reference collection at Craiglockhart Campus Library there are a number of legal dictionaries, updating services (e.g. Encyclopedia of Information Technology Law) and directories (e.g. the Scottish Law Directory or 'Blue Book'). Textbooks are located in the Main Lending Collection. In both areas, items are arranged primarily by jurisdiction and then by subject. Shelf marks beginning 344.1 indicate that the subject matter is dealing with UK law. 344.11 relates to Scots law and 344.2 to the law of England and Wales. Thus, 344.205,for instance, would indicate a book dealing with English criminal law and 344.1105 a book dealing with Scots criminal law.Journals
Paper copies of journals are filed by title along with all the other titles kept at Craiglockhart.
