Introduction
The School of Management and Law looks at all types of management, focussing on business operations, human resource and strategic management. Textbooks are available covering all aspects of management, as well as extensive journal holdings. Electronic journals can be found in their host databases via the Databases page of this wiki.
Business Operations Management
This covers the study of "the methods, tasks and techniques firms use to produce goods & services. It concerns all the activities involved in planning and controlling the materials, people and machines to produce and deliver all the goods and services we consume. All operations are concerned with the transformation of input resources (i.e. labour, materials & machines) into output resources, i.e. goods and services."

Human Resource Management
This aspect of management looks at how to manage the "human resource" i.e. empployees. This topic covers a variety of areas, such as training & development, recruitment & selection, appraisals and internal organisational communications. Industrial relations, e.g. Trades Unions, can also come into this area.

Strategic Management
This covers the management decisions that "determine the purpose and direction of the firm". Igor Ansoff and Peter Drucker are notable authors on this multi faceted topic.

E-Resources
The Library subscribes to various management specific electronic resources. A full list of all Business and Law databases can be found on the Databases page, however here are those which are of most use to management students. For academic journal articles, I would recommend the following databases:
ABI/INFORM has the largest amount of publications available on it and is an excellent database to start with.
