ATHENS

From Nulisbus

What is ATHENS?

ATHENS is an authentication service that allows you to access many different databases using the same username & password.

All students are automatically registered with this service once their matriculation has been completed. Each student is sent an e-mail to their Napier e-mail address once their ATHENS account has been set up. This e-mail is entitled "ATHENS Password for Library databases at Napier - Do not delete" PLEASE TRY NOT TO DELETE IT!!!!!

Each username follows the same formula below, but each password is randomly generated, hence the need to see the e-mail sent to your Napier e-mail account.

Username = nap+matric.no. (i.e. nap12345678)

Password = this is sent to your Napier e-mail account.

NB The ATHENS password is case sensitive.

Once you have your details it would be sensible to go to the ATHENS webpage HERE and sign into the MyAthens option. This allows you to change your ATHENS password to something more personal and memorable.

Please remember though that if you have any ATHENS problems then e-mail athens@napier.ac.uk
