Michael Clapham
From Mmc
Dear Dr.
Thank you for your letter dated the 28th March 2007 and I apologise for the delay in replying.
I am always pleased to hear the views of my constituents and what needs to be done to make things better. I note your concerns that MTAS is unfair and will make many doctors leave the NHS.
I should be grateful if you could let me know what the points are that you consider are unfair with the MTAS to enable me to take this matter up. I recognise the long hours that Junior Doctors work and particularly if they are unable to obtain jobs in the same region as their partner or if they are working different shifts. It may be a more family friendly service to staff needs to be considered by the PCTs.
I await hearing from you why you think the MTAS is unfair and why many Doctors will leave the NHS. I will then take the matter up.
Your sincerely,
Michael Clapham.
