Super Mario Bros. 2

From Mariopedia

Super Mario Bros. 2 (known as Super Mario USA in Japan) is a game based on Doki Doki Panic (which Shigeru Miyamoto designed) that was released in the USA instead of the Japanese version (known as Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels in the USA and Europe).

Super Mario Bros. 2 was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988 and the game is set in the dream world, Subcon. Nintendo used this to explain why none of the game's enemies were featured in the first game. However, some (like Birdo and Shy Guy) have appeared in later Mario games.

Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad were all playable characters. Each character was playable from the start and had their own, individual jumping ability.

The Boss of this game was an evil tyrant, named Wart.
