  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: juvenile Red-backed Shrike still at western end of seawall just east of rubbish tip; also Wood Sandpiper still on Aveley Pools, 5 Green Sandpiper, Greenshank, 2 Hobbies, Ruff and 4 Little Egrets (Birdguides) Tree Pipit. (Paul Hawkins, Dave Morrison)
  • Queen Elizabeth II Res: juv Osprey (colour-ringed) present 0630-0830 at least (this bird was from Rutland Water, and departed there at 2pm yesterday). Photo's on SBC website. Also Oystercatcher, 11 Dunlin, 8 Ringed Plover & 7 Yellow Wags (Dave Harris)

  • Brent Reservoir: Autumn Bird Count 64 species including Snipe, 2 Common Sands, 30 Swifts, 5 Reed Warblers, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 2 Whitethroats, 5 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers, 20 Chiffchaffs & a Spot Fly (Brent Birders)
  • Alexandra Park: 2 Common Swifts, 4 Swallows, 1 Meadow Pipit south, Whinchat, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, juv Common Whitethroat, 3 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, Spotted Flycatcher and juv Linnet all in cricket scrub area, Hobby behind reservoir, plus unidentified small parakeet sp at the new pond at 0720 only (Dominic Mitchell, Andrew Gardener).

  • Dagenham Chase LNR: 1 Imm Common Redstart, 2 Whinchat, (1 on island in the middle of the Slack !),1 Common Whitethroat (singing intermittently), 2 Lesser Whitethroats,3 Common Swifts, 2 Yellow Wagtails South at 3.04pm,2 Common Sandpipers, 1 Green Sandpiper and 1 Hobby. (Vince Halley-Frame).
  • Cornmill Meadows: A trio of freshwater sandpipers, Green (4), Common (1) and Wood (1) along with 6 Snipe and a juvenile Water Rail feeding in front of the Wake hide. A Curlew flew over Bowyers Water earlier in the day. (Mike Oakland)
