Soulmates never die
From Lavosbyssals
"Aren't I dreaming~" Sarien's hands, freed from the silken scarves tying them to the headboard, fluttered like butterfly's wings, long pale delicate fingers tracing vague little patterns in the air. The redhead wavered on his feet, green eyes almost looking through the other man. "I'm always dreaming~" Long strands of red hair spilled over one porcelain-white bare shoulder, and the tall, tall blond man gently tucked it back. "Death is but a dream~" he giggled, fragile and high and sweet.
"No, dearest." Gan Ning's fingers, silver lines etched into the skin glimmering faintly in the light, gently ghosted down Sarien's face, light touches, but real. "You're not dreaming. I'm real."
Green eyes widened, shimmering suspiciously, as Gan Ning wound an arm around his waist and drew him into his arms.
"I promised you that I would come back." he said softly, running his fingers through Sarien's hair. "That I wouldn't die if it meant leaving you alone."
Sarien's eyes fluttered closed for a moment, tears glimmering in his eyelashes, trailing down pale skin.
"Dry your eyes, dearest. Don't cry." Gan Ning whispered, gently wiping away the tears, with his free hand, as Sarien stared up at him. "I promise, I won't leave you again." he drew Sarien closer to him, closer still, so that the redhead could feel that he was no ghost, that he was real, solid, alive.
At that moment, he could hear a noise at the window. Out of the corner of his eye, Gan Ning could see the dyed blue hair of that annoying bastard, Lingering Smoke: he had climbed back up to the window. Apparently, he hadn't learned any better, and liked being thrown out of windows.
Gan Ning snatched up the nearest object to hand-it felt like a book-and threw it with his free arm, his other arm still wrapped around Sarien's waist, towards the broken window in which Smoke was climbing through.
