Devil's Playground (2012) will feature professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing feuds, plots, and story lines that have been played out on WIW's primary television programs. Wrestlers will portray villains or heroes as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. The lead up to the event will feature a tag team tournament to decide the number one contenders for the WIW Dynasty Unified Tag Team Championship.

The main feud from Dynasty involves Kevin McAlmond defending the WIW Championship against Jonathon Rispens contested in a Hell in a Cell match. At Clash of Champions Kevin McAlmond defeated Matt Borske and Will Kapphan in a Triple threat Three Stages of Hell match to retain the WIW Championship. Two, three weeks before Devil's Playground, Rispens attacked McAlmond after a match and took the WIW Championship, later on that night Rispens threatened McAlmond and his personal life which caught McAlmond's eye and McAlmond attacked Rispens during his promo challenging him to the Hell in a Cell match with the title on the line.
