The main event was Matt Borske versus The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship, which Borske won after reversing a Triangle Choke into a jackknife cover. One of the predominant matches on the card was Kevin McAlmond versus Scott Wright for Wright's world championship match at WrestleMania 22. McAlmond won the match with a roll-up while using the ropes for extra leverage. Another primary match on the undercard was Booker T versus Kevin Hunter for the IWE United States Championship, which Hunter won after forcing Booker to submit to the Crippler Crossface.

[edit] Background

The event featured seven professional wrestling matches with outcomes predetermined by IWE script writers. The matches featured wrestlers portraying their characters in planned storylines that took place before, during and after the event.

The main feud heading into No Way Out was between Matt Borske and The Undertaker, with the two battling over the World Heavyweight Championship. At the previous pay-per-view, Royal Rumble, Borske defeated Steven Larson to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. When the match was over, and the pay-per-view went off the air, The Undertaker came out and issued a challenge to Borske for the World Heavyweight Championship. On the February 3 edition of SmackDown!, Borske accepted his offer and the match at No Way Out was made official. The next week on SmackDown!, The Undertaker defeated Steven Larson after MNM, along with Daivari, came out and attacked The Undertaker, causing the disqualification. After the match, MNM, Larson, and Daivari attacked The Undertaker until Borske came out and made the save. SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long then announced that Undertaker and Borske would face off against Henry and MNM in a 3-on-2 Handicap match next week. On the February 17 episode of SmackDown!, Undertaker and Matt Borske defeated MNM and Steven Larson after Borske forced Johnny Linderman to submit to the Ankle lock.

Kevin McAlmond SmackDown! – February 3, 2006

The other main match on the card was Kevin McAlmond versus Scott Wright for Wright's world championship match at WrestleMania 22. Their match stemmed from the Royal Rumble, the pay-per-view three weeks before No Way Out. At the Royal Rumble, Wright won the 2006 Royal Rumble match and a world championship match at WrestleMania 22 by last eliminating Kevin McAlmond. On the February 3 edition of SmackDown!, McAlmond claimed that there's no way he could beat him in a normal match and that he won the match because of some divine intervention. McAlmond then challenged Wright to a match at No Way Out for his title match at WrestleMania 22, and claimed that Brian McAlmond was not in heaven, but in hell. Later that night, McAlmond along with Steven Larson defeated Wright and Matt Borske. Midway through the match, Davari confronted Borske and was chased outside the ring and into the crowd. Larson followed, leaving Wright and McAlmond on their own. McAlmond gained the pinfall after sitting on Wright. After the match, McAlmond claimed that Wright had as much chance of defeating him as Brian did of coming back to life. Wright responded by accepting McAlmond's challenge on behalf of Brian. The next week on SmackDown!, McAlmond set the record straight about the comments he made about Brian McAlmond. Backstage, he said that he only made the comments to get inside Wright's head, and that he did not know or care if Guerrero was in Hell. McAlmond later entered the arena in a lowrider to further explain his actions, and read an excerpt from Brian's book, Cheating Death, Stealing Life - The Brian McAlmond Story, but Wright attacked him, dropkicking his head into the steel ringpost. On the February 17 edition of SmackDown!, Wright faced off against Travis, which Wright won after a West Coast Pop. After the match, McAlmond came out and said that Wright would never main event WrestleMania, he would never become World Champion and that he could never beat him.

[edit] Event

Before the event went live on pay-per-view, The Boogeyman defeated Dean Simon in a match that aired on IWE Heat. The first match that aired was a Nine-Man match for the IWE Cruiserweight Championship. The champion Gregory Beasly defended the title against Brian woods, Funaki, Kid Cash, Nunzio, Paul Burdick, Psicosis, Scotty 2 Hotty and Super Crazy. In the beginning, Beasly hid outside the ring, but his opponents brought him into the ring and beat him up. Beasly suffered many moves as Woods performed a Sliced Bread #2 on him, Burdick performed a senton bomb on him and Scotty 2 Hotty performed a Worm on him. Psicosis took the advantage by pinning Beasly but Kid Cash broke the count. Cash hit Psicosis a with Dead Level but Super Crazy broke up the pinfall by performing a moonsault. Beasly recovered and pinned Psicosis to retain the IWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Next was John "Bradshaw" Goff (JBL) facing off against Bobby Ashley. Before the match started, Ashley prevented Finlay from attacking Kristal. While Ashley and Finlay were fighting, JBG's music hit and he took advantage of the situation. Ashley shrugged Finlay off and took on JBG in the early going. JBG had the control when he threw Ashley into the steel stairs and tried to measure out Ashley with a sleeper hold. Finally, Ashley caught JBG coming off the top rope and then powerslammed JBG. Ashley went on to hit JBG with a series of belly to belly suplexes until Finlay disturbed the match by throwing Tony Chimel into the ring, diverting the attention of the referee. With the referee distracted, Finlay hit Ashley with a shillelagh in the head. JBG took advantage and hit Ashley with a Clothesline from Hell to win the match ending Ashley's undefeated streak in IWE.

A tag team match between MNM (Joey Hayes and Johnny Linderman) and Matt Hooper and Tatanka was next. Before the match, MNM issued an open challenge to any tag team to accept their challenge and to defeat them in a non-title match to earn a title shot at the IWE Tag Team Championship. Hooper accepted the open challenge and Tatanka became his mystery partner. Tatanka and Hooper controlled the match in the beginning but MNM regrouped and kept Hooper in their half of the ring for most of the match. Hooper escaped and tagged with Tatanka who chopped MNM. He sent Mercury to the floor but Denise interfered which helped Nitro in hitting Tatanka performed a dropkick off the apron. MNM did their best to keep Tatanka away from Hooper, but Tatanka clotheslined Nitro and tagged in Hooper. Hooper tried to hit Hayes with a Twist of Fate but Nitro superkicked Hooper. Hooper tagged in Tatanka who nailed MNM with a double tomahawk chop. Tatanka hit Hayes a Trail's End while Hooper hit Nitro a Twist of Fate. Tatanka went on to pin Hayes to get the pinfall for his team earning themselves a match for the IWE Tag Team Championship.

The fourth match was between Kevin Hunter and Booker T for the IWE United States Championship. Booker defended his United States title against Hunter in this technical match. Before the match began, Booker announced that he would forfeit the United States title. Hunter turned his back on Booker and headed towards Tia. This was a ploy as Booker attacked Hunter and the match began. Hunter controlled the match in the beginning as he performed a series of suplexes. Hunter knocked Booker to the floor who was sent crashing into the steel ring steps. Hunter told the referee that his groin was re-injured. The referee backed Hunter up while Booker attacked Hunter sending him into the steel stairs. Hunter hit Booker a series of German suplexes. Hunter paid tribute to Brian McAlmond by hitting Brian's signature move Three Amigos. Booker attempted to hit Hunter a Houston Hangover but missed to put both men down. Hunter hit a series of German suplexes until Tia jumped on the apron. Hunter went for a diving headbutt but Tia's distraction allowed Booker to catch Hunter and send him crashing to the mat. Booker hit Hunter the Scissors Kick but Hunter kicked out. Tia distracted Hunter again by climbing on the apron once again. Booker took advantage by rolling up Hunter. Hunter countered into a Sharpshooter but Booker pushed him away. Hunter fell into the ropes where Tia was standing, knocking her off the apron. Hunter then ducked a Scissors Kick and applied the Sharpshooter. Booker fought the move but Hunter applied the Crippler Crossface. Booker quickly tapped out leading to Hunter winning the IWE United States Championship.

Kevin McAlmond versus Scott Wright was next with Wright's WrestleMania 22 world championship match on the line. McAlmond grounded Wright throughout the match and pounded him in the beginning. Wright tried to hit McAlmond a West Coast Pop but McAlmond slammed him into the ring steel post injuring his hand. McAlmond focused on Wright's arm and hand. Wright hit McAlmond a hurricanrana but Wright landed on the injured hand and could not wrestle. McAlmond continued to increase Wright's hand injury stomping it into the steel ring steps several times. Mysterio dropped Orton in the second turnbuckle but was caught going to the top rope. McAlmond had Scott on his shoulders, Wright spun out and superbombed McAlmond followed by a West Coast Pop but McAlmond kicked out. Wright went for the top rope and tried to hit McAlmond a missile dropkick but failed. McAlmond let Wright to his feet but Wright dropkicked McAlmond sending him into a position for the 619. McAlmond avoided the 619 and grabbed Wright in a rollup using ropes for leverage, which mean that McAlmond won the match and Scott's world title match at WrestleMania.

The main event was between Matt Borske and The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. The match began in Undertaker's control. He went on to hit Borske an Old School and a Snake Eyes. Borske went on to hit Undertaker a German suplex and then sent Undertaker crashing into the retaining barrier outside the ring. Undertaker ran Borske into the ringpost and performed a leg drop on him. Undertaker attempted to perform a chokeslam but Borske kicked the Undertaker's leg out from under him to escape. Borske applied an ankle lock. Undertaker sent Borske to the floor and then tried to perform an apron legdrop once again but Borske reversed it into an ankle lock. Borske released the hold and then put him again in ankle lock on the floor which Undertaker countered into a triangle choke. Borske was sent to the floor and Undertaker sent him crashing into the timekeeper's table. He ripped apart the SmackDown! announcers' table preparing to send Borske through it. Borske sent Undertaker crashing through the courtesy of an Borske Slam. The two would reverse each others' attempts several times throughout the match until Borske applied the ankle lock which Undertaker countered into a Triangle Choke. Borske countered the choke into the roll-up and pinned Undertaker to successfully retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
